Jack and Beauty and Ellie Wetzel: Furry Friends Fur-Ever Tail
“I was originally just adopting Jack,” Ellie explains, “but his foster mom offered me Beauty, the mom of the litter!
“Having grown up with cats, Jack and Beauty were the first ones I’ve had since I moved out of my parents’ house. I had wanted some company in my new place since I was living alone then, and when I saw Jack, I thought he was the cutest thing. Beauty was having a hard time seeing her babies leave (she was such a good mama), and little Jack was still trying to nurse from her when I brought them home.
“They were very trusting from the start, and after two or three days, they both seemed comfortable and at home here. The kitties give me something to look forward to every day when I get home from work. It’s a new responsibility that I’ve adapted to, and I feel I’m doing pretty well. They love my boyfriend! When he comes home, they get so excited, they’ll meow and chirp.
“Beauty loves her little ball toys, and I have a little stuffed cucumber that she loves. She’ll carry them around the house in her mouth meowing until you pay attention to what’s she’s brought you. Jack will play with anything, but he especially loves toys with little bells and string toys that he can chase around.
“While they’re both independent, they love attention, trust everyone they meet, and are extremely affectionate. They love to cuddle up with each other, and they also love taking naps with me. They are quite the lap kitties. Jack likes to try and climb my walls and sit on top of the fridge, and he and Beauty love to watch whatever show I’m watching on TV.
“If they aren’t sleeping in the bed with me, they’re either in their cat trees or on a chair.”
